KOS PROTOUR 2010:
GROUND ZERO
K.O.S. ProTour ONGROUND

I. Eligibility:
  • Open to all registered K.O.S. players.
  • Participating teams must consist of 5 members.
II. Registration:
  • Show up at the designated venue on the specified date of the tournament.
  • Sign up with the Field Marshal present at the location. He or she serves as the official for the tournament and will assist teams who wish to register.
  • Registration is on a “first come, first served” basis.
  • All players regardless of what city/town they reside in are allowed to register.
  • A MINIMUM of 8 teams and a MAXIMUM of 16 team slots are open per venue.
    - Should a venue not be able to yield the MINIMUM of 8 teams, Ground Zero will be cancelled for that venue. A mini-tournament will take place instead.
  • Inform the Field Marshal if your team is already a part of an EXISTING clan in-game, or if your team is not part of any in-game clan.
  • For teams that are not yet part of an EXISTING in-game clan:
o Properly inform the Field Marshal that your team is not a member of an EXISTING in-game clan.
o The Field Marshal will guide you on the registration process for NEW clans.
o Once registration is complete, your team will be eligible to join the tournament.
o The team captain of the NEW clan will be made the Clan Master after the system creates the new clan the week after the tournament. Don’t forget the clan name that was registered because in order to accumulate more points for the next Ground Zero tournaments, you will only be able to register as an EXISTING clan.o Since the clan will be registered in-game, it will be up to the new Clan Master to recruit clan members in order to participate for the next Ground Zero tournaments.
  • If a NEW clan has 2 teams or more (10+ members) participating on the same day, the system will allow those teams to accumulate points as a clan on that day.
o The first NEW clan to register a valid clan name will be treated as that clan’s team 1. In order for a team from another venue to contribute for the NEW clan’s points, they should coordinate with team 1 and input the same clan name registered (correct spelling and capitalization) in order to count as that new clan’s team 2. This process can be continued until the 8 team (40 members) limit has been reached for the new clan.o In this case, team 1’s  team captain for the NEW clan will be made the Clan Master after the system creates the new clan the week after the tournament. Don’t forget the clan name that was registered because in order to accumulate more points for the next Ground Zero tournaments, you will only be able to register as an EXISTING clan.
  • Only one clan team (new clan or old clan, 5-members per team) will be allowed to register per cafe, per day. Other clan members can compete in other cafes nationwide.
III. Mechanics:
  • Teams must designate a Team Captain who will handle all decisions for the team. Field Marshals will consider decisions made by the team captain as final for the entire team.
  • Each team shall consist of 5 members belonging to the same clan.
  • Each clan is allowed to join as many tournament legs as they can per day.
  • Teams must be present and complete by the time their match schedule starts.
  • Setup period is STRICTLY 5 minutes ONLY.
    • Players may change the keyboard configuration, weapon handedness, and mouse sensitivity.
    • Players may select their primary weapons and backpack alternate weapons.
    • Players may purchase any weapon that isn’t already owned by the character and use that as their primary and/or alternate weapon.
    • Players may not change their class nor delete/create characters.
    • Players may bring their own keyboard, mouse, headset for the tournament.
    • The café management per location has the right to refuse participants from changing the PC settings, or not allow participants to use contestant’s hardware. In that case, participants will have to make do with only the settings that can be changed.
  • Players who fail to take advantage of the 5 minute setup time must begin playing with whatever configuration and character setup they are left with. No time extension for the setup will be given.
  • If teams are incomplete by the end of the setup period the team with the most members will automatically win.
  • A toss coin will settle which team will be on which side for the first set (red or blue).
  • If a player gets disconnected, the game will still continue, and the disconnected player must log back in again as soon as possible. If an entire team gets disconnected, the opposing team will automatically win.
  • If both teams get disconnected, the following rules will apply:
    • If the disconnection occurred within the first 5 minutes of the game, the entire match will be restarted.
    • If the disconnection occurred after the first 5 minutes of the game, the team who has the most points before the disconnection will be considered the winner of that set.
  • Technical issues encountered during the event will be assessed by the Field Marshal(s). Only major technical problems will merit game suspension and/or restart at the discretion of the Field Marshal.
  • Matches and the tournament tree will be randomly generated by the online Tournament Management Tool once registration is complete. This is a single-elimination tournament so only the winning team will advance.
