KOS PROTOUR 2010 TOURNAMENT MECHANICS

There are two ways by which players can compete in KOS PROTOUR 2010:

1. GROUND ZERO (ProTour onground)  - where the top two clans with the highest PRO TOUR POINTS will compete at the KOS ProTour championship at Level Up! Live 2010.

2. VIRTUAL OPS (ProTour online) - where the top two clans in the online finals tournament will compete at the KOS ProTour championship at Level Up! Live 2010.

Should there be any reason why the winners cannot make it to Level Up! Live 2010, the next highest in terms of PRO TOUR POINTS for On Ground and the third place in the ONLINE tournament will be tapped as replacement finalists.

VIRTUAL OPS
PROTOUR ONLINE

Increase your clan’s rank and participate in the online tournament! The online finalists go to Level Up! LIVE 2010.

I. Eligibility
• Open to all in-game clans of KOS: Secret Operations Philippines.

II. Registration
• No registration required. The system will automatically determine the clan’s ranking for the season.

III. Mechanics
• This tournament will be divided into four seasons – Season 1, Season 2, Season 3 and Season 4
• Each Season, the top 16 clans based on automated CLAN RANKINGS for the particular Season will be considered the finalist for the Season

The total clan EXP gained during the season will be multiplied by two, and the product will be divided by the number of days from the start of the season. The sum total of the clan`s kills score and sum total of the clan`s deaths score will also directly affect the clan`s performance by subtracting the death scores from the kills score.

Here is a simplified formula for calculating clan points:

2EXP
------- + (K-D) = clan points
n

where:

EXP = total clan EXP
n = number of days from the start of the season
K = kills score
D = deaths score

• The top 16 clans of the previous Season will no longer be considered for the succeeding Seasons
• The top 16 clans per season (finalists) will automatically be qualified for the online tournament.
• The Top 2 clans who emerge as first and second placers of the online tournament automatically go to LIVE 2010.

IV. Online Tournament Mechanics
• Participating clans must assemble a team with 5 members.
• Please be reminded that whatever line up the clan registered will be the same line-up the clan will be using for the whole duration of this tournament.
• The participants will be responsible for the venue where they will play during the tournament proper. They should make sure that the PCs they will be using will run K.O.S. Secret Operations without a problem.
• Teams must designate a Team Captain that will handle all decisions for the team. Event Marshals will consider decisions made by the team captain as final for the entire team.
• The officiating GM will assemble the teams participating in each match through in-game announcements.
• Once the matches have been announced, the setup period will begin. Setup period is STRICTLY 5 minutes ONLY.
• If teams are incomplete by the end of the setup period the team with the most members will automatically win.
• Players who fail to take advantage of the 5 minute setup time must begin playing with whatever configuration and character setup they are left with. No time extension for the setup will be given.
• The officiating GM will randomly determine which team will be on which side for the first set (red or blue).
• If a player gets disconnected, the game will still continue, and the disconnected player must log back in again as soon as possible. If an entire team gets disconnected, the opposing team will automatically win.

• If both teams get disconnected, the following rules will apply:
o If the disconnection occurred within the first 5 minutes of the game, the entire match will be restarted.
o If the disconnection occurred after the first 5 minutes of the game, the team who has the most points before the disconnection will be considered the winner of that set.

• Technical issues encountered during the event will be assessed by the event marshal(s). Only major technical problems will merit game suspension and/or restart at the discretion of the event marshal.
• Matches and the tournament tree will be randomly generated. This is a single-elimination tournament so only the winning team will advance.
